Schott Zwiesel Tritan Crystal Glass Saucer Champagne, 9-1/2-Ounce, Set of 6
Just like Cary Grant
Champagne coupes are a rarity these days, having been driven underground by critics who insist that “the bubbles last longer in champagne flutes.” Who cares what they say? If you want to feel like Cary Grant or Eva Marie Saint or Audrey Hepburn, this may be the glass for you. Lovely glasses, nice crystal, the price is quite reasonable and they can do double duty for handsome servings of dessert or appetizers. What difference does it make if the bubbles last longer in a flute? Instead of standing around holding your glass, drink up. You’ll never know whether they would have lasted longer hypothetically.
Great for the price
Despite the negative review I decided to order these anyway. There seems to be some confusion, they are NOT crystal, but are glass (dishwasher safe)– obviously for $80 you won’t get 6 crystal glasses, you’d get half of a glass. They arrived in great condition, no chips or cracks. The glass is not ugly and chunky, it’s fairly thin but not fragile looking. They are not hand blown so there is a seam from the press, but it is only noticeable if you try and find it, really it’s very discreet. Over all, great glasses, do not look cheap, will make a good wedding gift. I recommend these to other buyers.
Hunted for champagne coupes/saucers, settled on these
My husband and I wanted coupes/saucers instead of champagne flutes- we wanted something a little different and his parents had a really nice set. There weren’t a lot of options, but decided to register for these because Schott is a good brand with high quality glass.
We’ve really enjoyed these glasses because they are also fantastic for cocktails. They aren’t the best looking glasses, but they aren’t bad looking either. Durable enough that I’m not worried about breaking them, but thinner would have been nicer.
