Vinturi is wine I had remained a sceptic about aerators until my friends and relatives convinced me to re-evaluate them. I choose the Venturi because it is made of high quality glass and includes a small screen filter. I decided that I did not want to use two hands to pour one glass of wine so I bought the unit with the Venturi stand. Not only does it work well, it sits very attractively on our table. If you are considering an aerator, go Venturi – either with or without the stand. Great aerator Great gift. Fun. Fizz meter didn’t work We got a Sodastream Fizz for a gift. The mechanical parts of it worked properly, but the Fizz meter didn’t turn on. The back “door” was also poorly fitted and came off easily. After looking closer at the unit, it seems that it might have been a return, perhaps related to the many online reports of bad Fizz chips. I took the Fizz unit off, and there was a watch battery powering the unit. The battery in place was 2032. I didn’t have that, just a thinner 2025. Same voltage, same diameter, slightly thinner. Put in the alternate battery as a lark, and voila, the Fizz meter powered up. My guess is that a bad batch of batteries was installed at the factory, or the batteries got drained during shipment. Feels better quality than Jet model but LED indicator didn’t work While carbonating the water, the Fizz Feels better quality than Jet model. Feels sturdier and smoother functioning. Best cork screw I’ve ever used I had purchased the Pottery Barn table top unit for $200 and within 12 bottles the cheap plastic guts shattered. Pottery Barn replaced the unit and within 6 bottles I could see the same cheap guts would do the same. So as any serious wine drinker would do, we asked for a refund. Found this unit via Amazon and while the materials on this unit were not described in detail, what I received was very well made. The mechanics are solid, made of steel and brass, no plastic. The lower of the unit features a spring actuated bottle grip to support both downward and upward pressure of the screw. You still need to maintain a slight grip on the bottle with one hand while you move the screw handle downward and upward. Best part is, this unit looks fantastic on the wall of my bar. Stunning! These are beautiful wine glasses, much prettier and delicate than pictured. I’m almost hesitant to use these or serve to friends who imbibe in more than one glass of wine. They are large glasses (14 ounces) so one tip to friends would be to advise them once they see their face mirrored in bottom of glass they must switch to different style wine glass. The image is upside down, so that should convince them they’ve had enough. We are VERY pleased with the beauty of this style/color/thickness of glass. Stemless wine glasses are wonderful! I bought these wine glasses for a cocktail party I was having with a friend. We didn’t want to use any cheap plastic cups. I was given a small pack of these from an event planner and thought they looked like real glass and very chic. They were a bit pricey, in my opinion, but because they are reusable, I thought it would be worth it. Please be aware that they are to be hand washed (one accidentally went through the dishwasher and melted). I am VERY happy with the decision to purchase them. They were a hit at the party. Nice but not perfect… All in all, they are nice decanters. I put my nicer liquors in them, and they look very. Don’t expect the gold paint around the top to be perfect. When they painted a couple of mine, the tape they used to cut the line didn’t hold well and it bleeds down the glass. Not a deal breaker though. You can just tell they are cheaply made. Totally pleased Just a few thoughts on what you can’t tell from the picture: As noted in the product description, the images are etched/carved into the glass, not printed on. Great glasses These are the perfect glasses for wine. They are not crystal and have no stems, so they just pop in the dishwasher with no worries. If you don’t think the shape of the glass affects the wine, pour some of the same wine into a red glass and a white glass and compare. Fantastic beer tasting glasses Basically I drink one beer per day and therefore tend towards more refined offerings of all types (quads, triples, dips, ipa, apa, brown ale, imperial stout, stout, porter, wisbier, pilsen, doppelbock, bock etc), with weekly sampling of new beers. Prior to buying these glasses, and during my first few years as a beer tasting newbie, I used a frozen mug, which I have side learned is verboten as it dilutes fine beers through melting ice and does not promote head formation or retention Buchanan is needed to trap volatile oils in beer which help smell and taste. These glasses are exceptional in making the beer look beautiful as well as enhancing smell and taste. Beautiful in person! I have the Correll simple lines dinner plates and bought these glasses to go with them. The glasses are just as pretty online as they are in person. They hold a massive amount of liquid. (Which can be good after a stressful day!) One reviewer said that they were not as pretty in person, but I disagree. Fantastic wine ager! I don’t like spending more than $10-12 on a bottle of wine unless it’s a special occasion. This wine aging key makes a cheap wine taste great! For Decorative use only! I would not consider this safe to actually drink out of on any sort of regular basis. When I leave water in it for any period of time, it leaches out the plating and leaves it as a film on top of the water. I’ve done that twice, and now the bare metal is showing inside so much has leached away. Martini pics These are a little larger and longer than most olive skewers and may prerequisite a larger Martini glass. But they are suitable for my needs. What I was really searching for was some little sterling sliver drink straws to used in bourbon old fashions and bought these as the closes thing. Very nice wine glasses, price is right The 3 styles of glasses that come with this set (4 larger magnums for red wine; 4 smaller glasses for red or white; and 4 champagne glasses) are all beautiful, feel very nice in your hand and look to be of high quality. For $80 you get 12 glasses, that’s less than $7 per glass- cannot beat the price. They don’t look cheap at all. To the contrary they look beautiful, the glass is thin but sturdy and we agree that wines taste better in these glasses than they did in our other (cheaper) glasses.
