“Lead free crystal” is the product USP.

If you want to store alcohol in the decanter and not, fill it every time you have guests… This would be an obvious choice.


Read some articles about crystal lead bleeding into alcohol / wine if put for certain period – i think beyond 3-4 days – you check out the research yourselves.


I wanted the decanter to have alcohol in it all the time so that i can pour out when i want to… And went for this “lead free crystal” option. It is good.


The reason i am giving this four star is that there are several 24% lead crystal option that are better looking and for half (or even less) the price… But then they have lead and may bleed.


This might be a new technology and ravencroft is charging a premium. Or maybe the technology has some catching up to do (in efficiency) for it to be priced better.

This crystal decanter was to me the most attractive one on the Market. A very important aspect of the glass used to make this decanter is that it’s made without lead. As liquids are stored for periods of time in this decanter, I deem this an important feature and a good reason to buy this product.
