Ravenscroft Crystal Amplifier Unoaked White Wine Glass, Set of 4
Not what I expected.
These glasses were not what I had expected. First of all, they must be the most delicate glasses on Earth because when they arrived one of the stems was broken off of one of the glasses. There was no visible damage to either box that they were packaged in. I must say that Amazon addressed this immediately and refunded my money so kudos to them. Anyway, they are also much shorter than I thought they would be. In the picture it looks like these glasses are going to be tall but in reality they are shorter than average wine glasses. I think these are overpriced and you can find much better value with some of the other offering from Amazon.
on Unoaked Chardonnay
We have a particular interest in this glass because we are particularly interested in sampling all the unoaked Chardonnays we can find (we have a website about it, actually). We didn’t think a wine glass could make that much difference in the taste of any wine, but why wouldn’t it? After all, wine sipped from a Mason jar really doesn’t taste the same as wine sipped from a styrofoam cup really doesn’t taste the same as wine sipped from a stemmed wine glass.
Our mismatched collection of standard-sized 9 to 12 oz generic wine glasses — some crystal, some glass — was an embarrassment when company stopped by so we decided to give these a try. It’s nice to serve from “a set,” right?
You know what? The bouquet of the wine really IS amplified and really does improve the drinking experience of your favorite unoaked Chardonnay. It would also amplify the bouquet of a bad wine, so you’ll want to be careful of that.
The description recommends hand-washing, but I…
Excellent Crystal and Incredible wine Experience!
I actually own the Amplifier Cabernet. So, the following review is based on the Amplifier Cabernet, but based on my HIGHLY positive experience with the Amplifier Cabernet, I feel very confident that many of the other Ravenscroft designs are VERY worthy designs and should be VERY comparable in excellence and quality.

I own a variety of Wine stems from a few makers including some of the “Finest” in the industry from higly regarded makers such as Riedel. And a fair number of other collectible fine crystal items.
Further, I have sampled many other fine wine stems on various occasions.
Arguably, Riedel is considered one of the finest for glass stems and a high benchmark standard in the industry. And I can’t argue. I think they produce a fine product and I have been happy with the Riedel crystal I own.
However, Riedel’s truly nice stems are VERY expensive.
I recently came across some very positive reviews of Ravenscroft’s…
